Synopsis
“Ethnography and Fieldwork: Foundations of Qualitative Research" provides an in-depth exploration of ethnography as both a method and practice, blending theoretical insights with practical tools. The book's first section delves into foundational concepts, ethical considerations, and traditional methods like participant observation, interviewing, and visual approaches, along with guidance on analyzing and publishing ethnographic works. The second section offers experiential accounts from Indian contexts, addressing emerging areas such as digital and visual ethnography, multi-sited fieldwork, and the ethnography of food. With real-world examples and case studies, this collection is an invaluable resource for students, researchers, and scholars in anthropology, sociology, and cultural studies.
